Adios Campers Modjeska Canyon, Orange County

Luna, front to back

Luna parked at a forest campsite with the awning out, the outdoor mat down and a mountain bike leaning beside the van.

Luna is a 2023 Winnebago Solis Pocket: a 17-foot campervan that drives like a big SUV, parks in a regular space and carries everything two people need for a week off-grid.

Surfboard racks, bike racks, camp chairs and Starlink are all included, and the cabin heater makes cold-weather camping comfortable when the campgrounds are empty.

The walkthrough

Pickup includes a one-hour walkthrough of the van. First-timers welcome. This page is the short version, front to back: in at the sliding door, up to the cab, then through the galley and dinette to the bed and the back doors.

“Scott took the time (1 hour tutorial) to show us how to use all amenities on Luna!”

Luna from above, front on the left. A sketch, not to scale. At each stop the shaded part is what the photo shows, and the marker is where it was taken from.
The sliding door open with the bug screen drawn across it, a flip-out table at the sill, the awning overhead and the outdoor mat on the ground.

At the sliding door

Camp starts outside, under the awning.

  • Awning and outdoor mat
  • Three camp chairs and a double loveseat
  • Bug screens on the side and rear doors
  • Hot outdoor shower from a portable water heater. There is no indoor shower.
The living space seen from the cab: the sliding door open on the left with a bike outside, the fridge and galley in the middle, the dinette table on the right.

From the cab

Luna is 17 feet long. It drives like a big SUV and parks in a regular space.

  • 200 free miles a day, then $0.35 a mile
  • Never driven a campervan? Not a problem.
  • Graded dirt and campground roads are fine, driven slowly. No off-roading.
  • A mattress for the front cab is available on request

“It is really well thought out, comfortable and has everything you need with little extras to boot. It also drives really smooth and easy.”

Brandessa H., 5 stars on Outdoorsy

The cabin heater keeps the van warm on cold nights.

The full length of the van looking forward from the back: the bed folded up on the left, the galley on the right and a guitar resting on the cab seat.
